After two days of travel, we got our first glimpse of Lake Atitlan. On the way, we saw a crowd of people looing into a deep canyon where a car had gone over the cliff a few hours before. The firemen were still on their way down -- several hundred meters.

April 6 -- Day One in Guate
After two days of travel, we got our first glimpse of Lake Atitlan. On the way, we saw a crowd of people looing into a deep canyon where a car had gone over the cliff a few hours before. The firemen were still on their way down -- several hundred meters.

I'm so jealous!!
ReplyDeleteWay cool. Looks like quite the adventure. We miss you here already. Please update us frequently. I disabled my Facebook account, so this is great. What kinds of things fall on the roof? Jmm
ReplyDeletePlastic under the sheets? Oh... so you're a bed wetter.
ReplyDeleteWow, looks much smaller than my house, but with way cooler vegetation, i.e. there is some. Any way, i've got a ton of your mail, which you will be able to see in about an hour (I'll have to write a frickin' essay in order to let you know about it).

How exciting! What kind of foods have you been eating?
ReplyDeleteoooo sounds fun!!!! Have a great time!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm a little late here, didn't think you'd have internet acces for a couple weeks... but I guess you had it right off the bat.
ReplyDeleteThe country looks really exotic so far, it sounds nice because you know the sounds I'm hearing don't compare to the rural(ish), moonlit, jungle. There's barking dogs everywhere and I swear to god they're barking at me in what's supposed to be my shelter, it's like they don't like my powerful breathing or something. Much love,
-Charles
Convincing pictures of your trip down there. The nightly noise you are describing remember me some nights in Cameroon. It was great ! I hope you are having fun, and much later during the rainfall...
